Toy fire and rescue vehicles at the London Fire Brigade Museum
I have had the privilege to work and volunteer in some remarkable museums, with an amazing variety of objects. Some of these have been world renowned, like the Ashes Urn, others like the children’s toys above mass produced and probably fondly played with. However, even the humblest item can have a fascinating story to tell, and deserves to be preserved.
These case studies are a taste of the organisations and private collections where I’ve used my knowledge to protect objects, research stories, display historic artefacts and introduce people to hidden treasures.
